Dance of the world and its performers is contributing to unique and inclusive cultural landscapes, such as jazz dance, tap, hip-hop, swing, breakdance, modern dance, country western, house, and krump of U.S. origin along side salsa, cha-cha-cha, rumba, afrobeat, bollywood dance, taiko, k-pop, b-boying, ballet, step dance, samba, and reggae dancehall. Dance is a global heritage.
Performance on stage, in film, in opera, in poetic recitations, in storytelling, in stand-up comedy, adapted to maintain cultural essence and significance, on the street and in public spaces can transform the space, shift perception and stimulate a sensory experience of its audience.
Classical arts remain a vital part of modern entertainment, in reverence for tradition, even as they are adapted to new cultural and technological landscapes and their relevance and popularity is ongoing. Digital platforms for streaming performances, virtual reality experiences, and social media promotion has expanded the reach of classical arts from an aging to younger audiences. Online content and digital archives make classical works more accessible to global audiences.
Give yourself the opportunity to enrich your education through the practice of listening, responding and interpreting direction from our guest teaching artists in an instrumental music setting. For you are a student who must arrive at work or school early, stay late, and/or require supervised activities on most school holidays, these activities teach and entertain.
Throughout the year, we host productions where we invite members from the community to experience first-hand our creative arts enrichment program. These fee-based productions are all-inclusive, meet for 10 weeks at a local studio, and open to students with all levels of experience. Online registration is available as these original performances move to live or online productions.
