Membership and events are open to the public.
It was founded in 2009 by legendary composer, orchestrator, and arranger Ron Jones. With over three decades of experience and two Emmy nominations under his belt, Jones has always looked for ways to express himself both musically and creatively.
What began in 2009 as an informal study of classic scores among Ron’s friends and peers turned into the Ravel Orchestration Study, and then the non-profit Academy of Scoring Arts.
The mission of the Academy of Scoring Arts is to advance the creative and technical process of scoring visual media by bringing together composers, filmmakers, audio engineers, and musicians to share knowledge through the production of educational programs and community events.
